We are Utah based wedding photographers, and we are interested in the details about your wedding, your ceremony & reception venues, your vision, your dress, your colors and anything else you would like to share with us.

We are passionate about photography!

Portia:

“My mother was a talented photographer. I remember standing in a field of flowers with my mom when I was a little girl. She told me, “Photographers paint with light. Always look into a person’s eyes when you’re taking their pictures; that’s where the magic happens.”  At night my mom retouched negatives for my grandfather, who was also a photographer. When I was a teenager, my mom started a wedding photography business. My mom had a gift of capturing the beauty of a moment, and I believe she passed that on to me. One of my uncles was the founder of Kiddie Kandids, a photography studio that was located in malls across the country specializing in children’s photography. I worked for two of my uncles, then in my twenties I started my own photography company specializing in weddings. I’ve met so many amazing people from all around the world photographing weddings. It’s been such a privilege to capture the beginning of their lives together.

Shannon:

“I grew up in Seattle, Washington loving sports. I came to Utah to go to college and took a two-year break to go to Hong Kong on a full-time mission. That’s where my love and passion for photography really grew. It was always important to me to document my experiences and became even more important while I was living in another country. I think my Japanese ancestry has something to do with move of photography. I chose to get married before I graduated college and decided after our first daughter was born, I wanted to help my husband start a business. It was a busy time for us, but I never let an experience pass without capturing it on film.  I got excited about the scrapbooking craze when my children were young, then I started photographing weddings with Portia in 2010. I immediately new wedding photography was what I wanted to do. I love photography and pay close attention to details.  It’s fun to work with Portia because we know each other so well. Our families have been friends for over 25 years. When Portia and I are working together we get in a creative zone. It’s amazing!”
